Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actress best recognized for her role as House in the Fox Medical drama House. As a child of strictly Jewish background she moved from Wayne to New York City when she was just 18 years old to go to the Tisch School of the Arts. However, very quickly she began to be active in the club scene, making enough splashes to get recognized by the media, simultaneously, she became conscious of the devastating effects of AIDS. She then merged her talents and fame her writing and composing skills to produce a play called Positive Me. Awake on the Wild Side was her next assignment. When the show was over, she started appearing in the film and television industry, beginning with small parts, but gradually establishing her place as an actor.
