Chaka Khan.....................Chaka Khan is one of the most popular and richest R&B Singer who was born on March 23 1953 in Chicago Illinois United States. R&B singer who sang Prince's I Feel for You was an instant hit. She is also the frontwoman of Rufus.'s I Feel for You is widely considered to be a hit. The singer is also lead singer of Rufus. Khan was brought up as a Catholic. She was educated at her school, the Hyde Park Saint Thomas the Apostle Church elementary school. Her grandmother is the one she credits for getting her into jazz while she was a young. Khan was a rhythm and blues fan in her preteen years. In her twelfth year she joined the Crystalettes along with their sister Taka. Khan was involved in several demonstrations in support of civil rights during the late 60s along with Connie who was her father's second-wife who was a supporter of the causes. She was a member of the Black Panther Party when she first met Fred Hampton from Chicago. Although many believe that Khan was named Chaka at the time she joined the Panthers however, she claims that the Yoruba Baba gave her the name Chaka Adunne Aduffe Karifi when she was the age of 13. She left in 1969 from the Panthers in 1969 and quit high school after attending Calumet High School, and Kenwood High School. (Now Kenwood Academy). She performed in Chicago with Cash McCall and his group Lyfe with Hassan Khan. Chaka got married to Hassan in the year 1970.
